This plein air watercolor painting was started in mid-September, 2022 at Creekside Park in Bountiful, Utah, not far from his home & finished in his studio within a couple of days. He said “Utah was in the middle of a sever drought & everything around us was dry as a bone including Mill Creek. This was a quiet, sheltered stretch of the creek in the park, still amazingly green for the surrounding circumstances.” After reviewing the finished piece, the execution reminds Conrad of the style of many, many dye-marker comp drawings he did as a commercial artist and art director.
