This is a reproduction of the original artwork Wm Conrad Bowen painted in his studio with oil paint on a 30”x20” stretched gesso primed canvas.

This is the third of four images that Conrad has created of the Olsen Granary located near 9200 S 100 E, Paradise, Utah. This adventure started as a sketchbook drawing & watercolor painting on location in early August, 2019. As a result he’s generated four original pieces of art . They include: 1. A pen & ink drawing, 2. a small watercolor painting, 3. this oil painting on canvas, and 4. a larger watercolor painting — reproductions of each are available to view & purchase from this website.

In this rendition, Conrad explored the difference between painting the subject with oil pigments on canvas and watercolor pigments on textured watercolor paper. What do you think? Which do you like best? Conrad has experience painting with watercolors, acrylics and oils on various different surfaces. Each have their unique characteristics, benefits, advantages and disadvantages. As long as Conrad gets to draw and paint and choose his mediums and surfaces — he’s happy!
