Recently on line (click on QR code above), Conrad saw a sketch of a foot that sold for $27.2 million. Yes! The sale was from Christie’s auction house in New York City and the artist was identified as Michelangelo. Of course! It turns out that the Renaissance master sketched out the foot using red chalk in preparation for one of his frescoes on the Sistine Chapel ceiling at the Vatican, which he painted between 1508 and 1512.
