This is a 17”x11” Full-Color Fine Art Edition printed on white 80 Lb paper cover stock from the original artwork Conrad painted with acrylics on illustration board in the late 1970s.
At the time, it was thought by some – possibly to be – the last image of a gigantic sperm whale recorded in the deep blue ocean!
... With an artistic technique, Conrad sprinkled granular salt on the wet acrylic washes to simulate bubbling sea water surrounding this giant sea monster. Just imagine a huge leviathan leaping above the white water surface save for it’s tail fin and then crashing back into the deep blue-green abyss empty mouth gaping wide open in search of a giant squid…!
